Shepherd of the Valley was created to be a wellspring of the Living Water given in Christ. One of the important aspects of living into Christ’s purpose is the way it draws us back to the nurture and care of each other.
We are called to help one another drink from the wellspring of Living Waters so each one will be refreshed. We are called to help one another keep our wells full. And we are called to allow the Living Waters to flow through us. As we share we are drawn again to the well, where we drink and are refreshed; our wells are filled and emptied in an on-going cycle of living and sharing.

This year’s Mission Fair will be held on May 20th from 8:30 – 11:00 am. As we have done in the past, the Mission Committee of Shepherd of the Valley has invited over 20 local organizations to participate. Each of these organizations is dedicated to serving our community to meet the needs of the poor and often disenfranchised. They work tirelessly in the areas of hunger, homelessness, education, childcare, housing, reading programs, prison ministry, and disaster assistance.
Many of the agencies invited have received financial support, in-kind services, and numerous volunteers from Shepherd of the Valley over the past years.
The Mission Fair is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet the people behind these agencies and organizations and to learn about their programs and the people they serve. It is also a way to find out how you might become involved in their outreach and what volunteer opportunities might exist for you to pursue. It is truly amazing to hear their stories and talk with the people on the front lines who are dedicated to the service to others.
